Hudson Veterinary Hospital Pet Resort & Spa is pleased to offer Obedience Training Services as a part of our comprehensive range of services for your dog’s well-being and happiness.
Our training services are under the direction of Mr. West Artope.
Please note that prior to evaluation and training all dogs must have proof of current Rabies, Canine Distemper, and Bordetella vaccination.
We schedule introductions and evaluations to daycare/pack play for any new dog to let them acclimate to daycare. Any new puppies are welcome to come to daycare as soon as they are current on shots for their age group.
We are open at 7AM for your convenience. Daycare starts at 9AM. During the day your dog will receive supervised playtime, along with periods of rest. We do not feel it is good for most dogs to play for the entire day. They can often get over tired and grouchy. So nap time is a way for them to chill out, rest and get ready for another round of play. Your dog will be kenneled for about an hour in the morning and in the afternoon. Daycare is over at 5PM. We then start cleaning and preparing the daycare space and yard for evening training classes, but pickups are still available until we close at 6PM.
We require the following vaccines to be up to date: Rabies, Distemper, Parvo and Bordetella. We also require you to fill out our New Client Form, our Pet Resort and Spa Consent Form, and our Daycare Questionnaire.
Paws Crossed are dedicated to being a true no-kill rescue. This means they will only euthanize for terminal illness or irreversible suffering. Paws Crossed is committed to saving as many lives as they can, while also providing the best possible environment for the pets in their care.

Hudson Veterinary Hospital Pet Resort and Spa is proud to partner with Paws Crossed Animal Rescue and is offering all new adoptive pet parents a free one year wellness plan for your new family member. The plan is specifically designed to complement the vaccines and treatments given by Paws Crossed and ensure that each animal receives not only the proper follow up care, but encourages pet parents to bring their pet to the vet if there is any question about their health or well-being.

Let us answer all your questions and put your concerns to rest.
To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.
For your convenience, ‘drop-off’ appointments are available. A ‘drop off’ means you can drop your pet off with us in the morning to stay for a check up while you’re at work. The doctors can examine and treat the patient in between appointments. Once the doctor is done, they will give you a call to go over the diagnosis and to give you discharge instructions. For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that all vaccinations be up to date.
Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. This is one of the reasons we ask you to restrain your pet. All dogs and cats must be on a leash or in a carrier while in the waiting room.
We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, cash and personal checks.
We do not collect or give out any information to any third party vendors or internet businesses. No information will ever be disclosed to outside parties from us or our web site hosting company.
It’s that simple! And we strictly adhere to this policy.

Behavior issues can often be overwhelming for pet owners. A dog that barks, digs, and chews can be very frustrating. It isn’t uncommon for these pets to be punished for what they’ve done without them even realizing why they’re being punished. This leads to an unhappy pet owner, and an unhappy pet. Proper behavioral training can increase the rewarding feeling that you get from caring for a pet, and increase the happiness of your pet in your home. We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.
We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets by Hill’s.
You can also visit our online pharmacy.
A good diet is as important for your pet as it is for you. Your pet’s nutritional needs will evolve as it grows. A young puppy has different dietary needs than an a fully mature dog so why feed them the same food? Hudson Veterinary Hospital Pet Resort and Spa will help you determine the appropriate type and amount of food to be giving your pet in order to meet its specific needs. Growth, weight loss or maintenance, and performance are all different results that will require different food. We can custom tailor a diet to help your pet live a long and happy life.
Along with the high level of care and many services offered at our locations, we are proud to also offer state of the art laboratory services.

We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient’s vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures.
Today’s modern anesthetic monitors have made surgery much safer than in the past. We do a thorough physical exam on your pet before administering anesthetics, to ensure that a fever or other illness won’t be a problem. We also adjust the amount and type of anesthetic used depending on the health of your pet. Preanesthetic blood testing is important in reducing the risk of anesthesia. Every pet should have blood testing before surgery to ensure that the liver and kidneys can handle the anesthetic. Even apparently healthy animals can have serious organ system problems that cannot be detected without blood testing. If there is a problem, it is much better to find it before it causes anesthetic or surgical complications. Animals that have minor dysfunction will handle the anesthetic better if they receive IV fluids during surgery. If serious problems are detected, surgery can be postponed until the problem is corrected.

At Hudson Veterinary Hospital Pet Resort and Spa our goal is not just to be there when you need us for your injured or sick pet. Our primary goal is centered around the core belief that being proactive can help to drastically reduce the chance of your pet needing to visit our veterinary hospital for illness or injuries. We focus on preventative medicine and work to keep your pet happy and healthy from their youth through their senior years.
Regular visits and exams allow our veterinarians to care for your pet’s current health needs and help you plan for and manage their future health as well. These visits are opportunities to detect potential problems well before they become a major health risk for your pet. Should problems arise for your pet, through our constant care your pet will have a greatly increased chance for a positive outcome. Early detection and prevention of diseases has the potential to add many happy years to your pet’s life. Prevention also helps save money in the long run as preventing disease is much less costly than treating it once it has developed, and overcoming the damage it has caused to your pet’s health.
Our wellness visits are designed to include everything your pet needs to live a long, healthy and happy life. With regular physical exams, vaccination plans designed specifically for your pet, timely parasite prevention, nutrition counseling and management, behavioral counseling, and any of our many other available diagnostic tests that your pet may need, our veterinarians work with you to ensure the health and wellness of your pet.
It is important for us to understand your pet’s lifestyle as well as their current physical state so we can accurately assess them for risks associated with their lifestyle. To do so we will ask questions about how they spend their time at home, and the activities they enjoy and participate in with you. The more familiar we are with your pet, the better we are able to personalize their care.
Through our wellness visits our team will become more familiar with you and your pet, developing a bond and friendship which is important to all of us. We’re animal lovers too and we believe having a personal bond with your pet helps us to provide them with better, more compassionate care. If you have questions, please ask! Tell us about any concerns you might have for your pet’s health and well-being. We are your life-long partners for your pet’s health care. We are happy to discuss any aspect of your pet’s health with you, so that together we can provide your pet with the best care possible through every stage of their life.
